Tanah Lot is a very famous resort in Bali, almost every tourist which is vacation to Bali visit Tanah Lot and enjoy the nature view in Tanah Lot. Tanah Lotand;Ground Lot located in Beraban village, district of Kediri, Tabanan regency, southwest of Bali island. Tanah Lot can be reach about 30 minute from Kuta. In Tanah Lot there are two temple, Tanah Lot Temple that located above a big reef which reside in middlely coast. In side there are another one temple, located above sordid bank to sea (look like Uluwatu Temple). Tanah Lot one of the Sad Kahyangan Temple (six main temple) that is temples which is take care the pure, chastity and safety of Bali island.

According to legend, Tanah Lot was build by a holy Brahmin called Danghyang Nirartha or also referred as Ida Pedanda Sakti Wawu Rauh or Danghyang Dwijendra at 16 century. He come to Bali to propagate and strengthen Hinduism teaching. Danghyang Nirartha also leave shawl that becoming a snake custodian of Tanah Lot Temple. This snake is still there until now and trusted can give safety and grant prayer one who touch him. Beside the Tanah Lot Temple, there is another Sad Khayangan temple that build by Danghyang Nirartha during its adventure in Bali, for example Petitenget Temple, Uluwatu Temple, etc. Trusted by people in Bali, Danghyang Nirartha finally “ Moksa” (dying without physic) Uluwatu Temple.

Besides there are snake which still there until now which is trust of local resident, the others fenomenal matter is there are source of north freshwater beside Tanah Lot Temple, though this temple located in of coast. This Holy water referred as Tirta Pabersihan, many visitor and people using this water for hallowing immaterially.

Tanah Lot is famous with its beautiful view, when good weather, we can see very beautiful sunset, when sun sink in the foot of the sky. In the way walk to Tanah Lot beach/coast we can find many tourism facilities like hotel, restaurant, shop art, and is other. Time which good to visit Tanah Lot is at 4 PM, so we earn to look around view with steep bank, marvellous of Tanah Lot Temple, and view of coast at the same time await sunset. Sunset usually happened about 6.30 PM.

Like others temple, Tanah Lot Temple also have Odalan (ceremony), celebrated every 210 days once, that is every “Buda Cemeng Langkir”, nearby the Galungan Day. When the Odalan (ceremony), all Hindu people in Bali will come to pray, also many tourist will come to witness the ceremony and beauty of Tanah Lot, however tourist do not be permitted to enter the ”Utama Mandala” / main area of Tanah Lot, except which enter to pray. This matter is done to take care of chastity Tanah Lot Temple.
